Yousuf Bashir Qureshi, known to the world to as YBQ, was born on the 2nd of March 1971 in the city of karachi. His High Schooling was from Pakistan Steel Cadet College, he went to the US to study Food Sciences, However , his passion for arts eventually took over and lend him to switch to fashion design, photography and art in general.

Yousuf moved from Lincoln, Nebraska to Los Angeles in 1997, where he has soon noticed by Hollywood for his unique skill of combining his heritage with a very contemporary gesture. This led him to work and learn from the industry giving him great insights on the business of fashion. He worked with major brands which helped him gain experience, understand and learn about his subject in particular and art in general.

In 2004 Yousuf moved back to Pakistan on the wish of his best friend, his late grandfather, Zahir-ud-din Qureshi. His family warehouses became his nest to start his career as an artist, teacher and a student.

On the request of his fourth grade art teacher and mentor Mrs. Shenaz Ismail he started his teaching career in Pakistan.

The family warehouse became the Commune Artist Colony, the first artist commune in Pakistan. Surrounded by the sounds and lights of urban Karachi, and the colors and chaos of MiskeenGali, the Commune has become the center point for art and art related activities.
